Sector Programme Sustainability Governance in Global Value Chains

OBJECTIVE
The programme aims to:
- strive for more sustainable supply chains in selected sectors (palm oil, cocoa, sugar commodities, fishery)
- utilise ‘Sustainability standards Comparison Tool’ to assess and compare sustainability standards
PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
The programme hosts several multi-stakeholder initiatives and activities. It strives for more sustainable supply chains in selected sectors (palm oil, cacao, agrar commodities, and fishery). Part of the programme is furthermore the “sustainability standards comparison tool”, an IT-based concept allowing the assessment and comparison of sustainability standards. Regarding field of intervention, leverage points for changes on the demand side of global supply chains are corporate buying practices, coordination of sustainability requirements and better-informed buying decisions in public and private procurement.
