Sector Programme Soil Policy and Land Management

OBJECTIVE

The project aims to:

  • provide technical and conceptual advice on international (EU, FAO, World Bank, SDGs, etc.) and national processes and agendas together with partners from the academia, the civil society and the private sector (TU MĆ¼nchen, University of Marburg, various NGOs, consultants, etc.)
  • interact within strong networks and supports initiatives on responsible land policy and land governance
  • provide advice to the Government of Ethiopia with regard to the realization of responsible investment projects on agricultural land

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The German Development Cooperation progressively integrates innovative, poverty oriented, and conflict as well as gender sensitive concepts and approaches for international and national land policy.

The sector project provides BMZ with technical and conceptual advice on international (EU, FAO, World Bank, SDGs, etc.) and national processes and agendas together with partners from the academia, the civil society andĀ  the private sector (TU MĆ¼nchen, University of Marburg, various NGOs, consultants, etc.). The project interacts within strong networks and supports initiatives on responsible land policy and land governance. It works on the elaboration of lessons learnt, knowledge management products and guiding manuals.

Furthermore, the sector project plays a role in the development and conception of new land management projects and participates in the adaptation of existing projects to current challenges and international as well as national processes.

Finally, the sector project also provides advice to the Government of Ethiopia with regard to the realization of responsible investment projects on agricultural land.
