Biofach India 2023, held from 6-8 September. It was organized by NürnbergMesse India and the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), providing a platform for organic industry professionals to convene, exchange ideas, and champion sustainable agriculture.

GIZ India’ also had a notable presence through projects including “Enhancement of Smallholder Spice Farmer’s Capacities in Sustainable Farming” and “Support to Agroecological Transformation Processes in India (SuATI). GIZ’s initiatives were highlighted aimed at enhancing farmers’ capacity in sustainable farming, spice production, agroecology, and food systems transformation. The event also featured the presentation of knowledge products from GIZ’s projects, including Enhancing Rural Resilience through Appropriate Development Actions (ERADA), Sustainable Aquaculture for Food and Livelihood (SAFAL), and Securing Nutrition, Enhancing Resilience (SENU). Highlights included “Digital Agro-Advisory Services,” “Management and Sustainability,” and “Value-added Agriculture Supply Chain.

Biofach India 2023 contributed to the visibility and promotion of sustainable farming practices, knowledge-sharing, and engagement with key sustainability initiatives. It further supported India’s long-term sustainability goals, exemplified by the Green Sustainable Development Partnership (#GSDP) between India and Germany.
