Pilot Project for Conservation of Indigenous Snakehead Species launched In Sohra, Meghalaya

The pilot project was launched on 24 March 2023 aimed at preservation of the indigenous snakehead fish through scientific methods with the support of Department of Fisheries and on-ground implementation by the local Biodiversity Management Committee and a strong commitment from the local community.
The project intends to protect the aquatic ecosystem of Khliehshnong while also strengthening local sustainable tourism through creation of an aqua-park.
