Policy, legislative and administrative measures developed under the Nagoya Protocol need to be consistent and mutually supportive with other existing instruments dealing with access and benefit sharing. In June 2014, the Initiative and Bioversity International organised a tandem workshop for national focal points of the Nagoya Protocol and those of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA), addressing the interface between the two treaties and the challenges of mutually supportive implementation at the national level.
