Muong Nhe Nature Reserve – A Pioneer in SMART
From 04 to 09 June 2023, more than 40 staff members of Muong Nhe Nature Reserve, Viet Nam joined a technical training course on the Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool (SMART) — a conservation tool allowing users to monitor, evaluate and improve the effectiveness of protected area management. The in-depth training strengthened the managerial and technical staff’s expertise in applying SMART. This includes patrolling data management, adapting the national standard data model to Muong Nhe and data collection in field.
“We committed to implementing SMART and will apply SMART in more than 90% of our patrols in the Nature Reserve in the next two years” – said Mr. Diep Van Chinh, Director of Muong Nhe NR.
