The Institutional Strengthening of the Biodiversity Sector in the ASEAN (ISB) II Project, in partnership with the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, recently concluded the Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool 4 (METT 4) Training for ASEAN Heritage Parks (AHP) Managers in Bangkok, Thailand, on 5 July 2023. The training was conducted in two batches and participated in by park managers from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, and was facilitated by Dr. Petch Manopawitr, a leading marine scientist and conservationist in Thailand.  The participants have learned the value of utilizing the SMART (Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool) and METT 4 (Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool) in ensuring that the ASEAN Heritage Parks, which are considered as the best protected areas in the region, are effectively managed and conserved.
