In the Media: GIZ steps up policy integration efforts in integrating SDGs in Asia

1 June 2016 — In an interview with Channel 3, a Thai local news broadcast, Morning World program, two GIZ representatives, Dr. Philipp Magiera, TUEWAS (Transport, Environment, Energy and Water in Asia) Spokesperson and Programme Director Mekong River Commission and Dr. Petra Mutlu, GIZ Head of Sectoral Department, reiterated the need for an integrated approach to development policies and how GIZ as a technical cooperation agency can foster effective collaboration among various stakeholders.

Following the conclusion of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are newly adopted initiatives comprising of 17 goals and 169 associated targets cross-cutting social, economic and environmental spectrums.

This press interview is held in conjunction with a joint conference of two Sector Networks in Asia, namely TUEWAS and SNRD (Natural Resources and Rural Development in Asia), from 31 May ā€“ 2 June 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand.
