ASEAN Climate Leadership Programme (ACLP) Workshop Series
The third iteration of the ASEAN Climate Leadership Programme (ACLP) is scheduled for a mid-2024 launch to enhance regional policies and actions against climate change. This initiative is a joint effort between the ASEAN AgriTrade project and the ASEAN EU-German Climate Action Programme (CAP), supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by GIZ.
The third round of the ACLP will equip ASEAN leaders with the latest tools to address climate challenges. The core theme will be “Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices to enhance Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) on the pathway towards net zero.”
The groundwork for ACLP III included two virtual co-creation workshops with former participants and experts held on 20 November 2023 and 15 January 2024. The exchanges also leveraged insights from the ACLP Alumni Knowledge Sharing Workshop on 7 September 2023.
Collaboration among governments from ASEAN countries, development agencies, academic institutions, and civil society is pivotal in defining the ACLP curriculum, emphasising climate-smart agriculture, gender in agriculture and forestry, climate change policy, and leadership skills.
