As an integral part of UNFCCC process, Asia Pacific Climate Week (APCW) offers a platform for policymakers, practitioners, development partners and civil society groups to discuss climate solutions in the Asia-Pacific region. Hosted by Malaysia this year, ASEAN showcased the regional perspective and AMS best practices in climate policy prior to the COP 28 UNFCCC and Global Stocktake. The conduct of the event was sponsored by the German Government through the ASEAN-German Climate Action Programme (CAP) project, implemented by GIZ, particularly in supporting ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change (AWGCC) to organize discussion sessions featuring prominent regional discourses on the topic of loss and damage and community-based climate actions. The sessions are:

  • ASEANā€™s Lived Experiences on Loss and Damage: Science, Policy, Finance and Communities
  • Voices for Climate Action: Championing Effective, Inclusive, and Equitable Community-based Solutions (in collaboration with Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation (affiliated with Hivos), SPARC – Society for the promotion of Area resource Centre (affiliated with Slum Dwellers International), SouthSouthNorth, SPEAK Indonesia, C4Ledger, Tambrauw Regency Government, Pioneer.
