The component of the Promotion of Sustainable Agricultural Value Chains in ASEAN (ASEAN AgriTrade) project in Cambodia organised a closing workshop on 7 December 2023 for the end of the first phase. The event brought together 84 participants from various sectors, including government agencies, civil society organisations, farmers, chilli value chain actors, industry representatives, agricultural cooperatives, and development partners.

Twelve booths showcased partners’ agriculture products as well as services in Cambodia. They contributed invaluable insights and experiences on sustainable agricultural practices, value chain development, and market access for Cambodian businesses.

The workshop reflected on achievements, challenges, and lessons learned, including the Agrinnovation Fund in ASEAN (AIF), highlighting the positive impact on sustainable standards in agriculture. The event featured engaging presentations, including success stories of chilli seed development in Cambodia and the AIF. A panel discussion on ways forward for agricultural value chain development in Cambodia provided a platform for experts and stakeholders to exchange ideas and strategies for future endeavours. The outcomes will be followed up on in the second project phase.
