Panelists of discussion on NDCs Progress Tracking

The 4th ASEAN Climate Change Partnership Conference (ACCPC) was convened in Bali, Indonesia by the ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change (AWGCC). Carrying the theme “Building Bridges post-GST in ASEAN: Between Nature and Climate Ambitions”, The conference served as a platform for AWGCC to exchange ideas and collaborate with ASEAN sectoral bodies, centres, and development partners. The topics discussed were relevant for ASEAN Member Countries to move forward after the first GST results at COP 28, such as Loss and Damage, Climate Finance, and tracking progress on Nationally-Determined Contribution (NDC).

The first GST emphasizes the need for countries to maintain their course towards achieving the Paris Agreement’s goals and underscores the importance of international collaboration in addressing global challenges. Therefore, ASEAN must interpret and implement these findings to drive climate action in the Southeast Asian region.

The events were hosted by Indonesia, in coordination with the ASEAN Secretariat, with support from the Federal Government of Germany through Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
