ABOUT SNRD AP
Sector Network Natural Resources and Rural Development in Asia and the Pacific (SNRD Asia and the Pacific), established in the mid-80s, is a regional network that promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience in the domains of natural resources and rural development in Asia and the Pacific.
As part of GIZ’s knowledge and innovation management, our goals are:
- to promote joint, supranational learning within the region
- to generate additional value for our clients and partners
- to facilitate sectoral onboarding for GIZ’s sector personnel and partner experts
- to promote innovation
SNRD Asia and the Pacific is collaborating closely with our sister network in Africa – SNRD Africa – to leverage synergies and achieve greater impact in cross-cutting sustainable development activities.
We are also working in collaboration with other sector networks within and across thematic focus and regions such as TUEWAS (Sector Network Transport, Environment, Energy, and Water in Asia), GADeR-ALC (Sector Network Environment and Rural Development in Latin America and the Caribbean), AfA (Sector Network Assets for Asia), and SNGA (Sector Network Governance Asia).
A joint Secretariat between the SNRD Asia and the Pacific and TUEWAS has been established and is located in Bangkok, Thailand.
