Dear Reader,

What is your plan this holiday season? Just in case you are wondering what to do or see, we have you covered. Leonardo DiCaprio’s recent documentary on climate change, “Before the Flood”, has become another talk of the town among environmental communities, young and old, idealists and naysayers. Well, for better or worse. The 96-minute movie follows the actor’s three-year journey around the world uncovering the inconvenient truth on the issue of climate change. Whether it is a hit or a miss? Judge for yourself and share your thoughts with us at snrd-asia@giz.de.

As the New Year approaches, we are proud to look back on an event- and successful year 2016:

  • The official launch of our SNRD Asia website in March with 4,000 monthly visitors as of date
  • Our first joint conference with TUEWAS in June calling for a concerted effort in working towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the formation of the Joint Task Force SDGs
  • The transformation of the Task Force Green Education into a Joint Working Group with members from both SNRD Asia and TUEWAS
  • The establishment of a joint secretariat with TUEWAS with a full-time Network Manager and a Public Relations Officer

-thanks to your continuous engagement as members and driving force behind this network. Thank you for making this group as active as ever!

As we bid goodbye to 2016, we wish you a happy holiday season and a good start into 2017 with renewed hope and energy!
