SNRD Asia and the Pacific and TUEWAS Annual Face-to-Face Steering Group Meeting promoted the cross WG and cross Sectoral collaboration and kicked-start the preparation for 2020 Joint Conference

05 March 2019

Bangkok 5-7 March 2019

With the new members joining the Secretariat, various topics were discussed in an effort to set ways forward for both SNs and to review the existing management system.

The steering group members of both, SNRD Asia and the Pacific and TUEWAS met in Bangkok during 5-7 March 2019.

Apart from exchanging the progress and lesson learned from the past year, the participants had the chance to discuss the potential for collaboration within and across WGs and SNs. Other issues related to the management of the SNs were also discussed such as the existing structure and the management system.

Since the Secretariat has the complete team again in late 2018, a strategic approach should be established to set ways of working for 2019-2020. The most important points of discussion were to improve the members engagement as well as to strengthen the value of the SNs.

As a result of the Digitalisationwithin GIZ, a session was conducted to understand the members needs in overcoming the difficulties in using the new tools for communication. The secretariat will come up with a solution to this matter.

The steering members agreed to have the Joint Conference in 2020, the ball is rolling with the theme selection and preferred month polls on IDA. More details to be published once available.
