The Sustainable Agricultural Systems and Policies (AgSys) India and the Green Innovation Centres for the Agriculture and Food Sector (GIC) India co-organised a training for representatives from government bodies and certification agencies to become Integrated Farm Assurance V6 trainers. This will support the support the Indian Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in the effective integration and coordination between global certification standards and government programs, to leverage these certifications to enhance the competitiveness of the farmers and expand their reach in lucrative markets

The pool of trained specialists will

  • guide farmers through the audits and the certification process
  • enhance understanding of certification requirements among stakeholders
  • set up processes that meet certification standards at every production stage

IFA V6 is a global standard developed by GLOBALG.A.P. that ensures safe and responsible agricultural practices at the primary production level.

Certified trainers will not only share their expertise within their organisations but also foster partnerships and support grassroots organisations in building the competencies needed to meet certification standards.
