Objective

The project aims to:

  • create important prerequisites for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystems at the national level
  • contribute to the implementation of the green growth strategy

Project Description

The Project contributes to create important prerequisites for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystems services of forests in Viet Nam at the national level and the implementation of the Green Growth Strategy.

Some of the activities include:

  • Providing advisory support to policy makers in the areas of, biodiversity management, sustainable forest management and payment for ecosystem services
  • Strengthening capacities of institutions in Protected Area management and sustainable forest management
  • Advising the partners in the establishment of a timber legality assurance system and in strengthening the verification capacities of forest rangers in the context of the FLEGT negotiations
