A Regional Knowledge Network has been formed through a series of consultative workshops that brought together enthusiastic participants from the research, practice, and policy spheres across the Northeast Region of India and beyond. Facilitated by the NERAQ Project, this regional knowledge network, now called the Northeast India Freshwater Collective (NEIFC) is poised to enable the dialogue on the protection and sustainable management of the precious aquatic ecosystems of the NE region.
Recognising that biodiversity conservation is a multifaceted endeavour requiring seamless collaboration across various levels, the dynamic discussions during the workshops advocated for a unified platform that will enhance communication and information flow. The aspirations articulated during the workshops set the stage for addressing pressing concerns and promoting best practices in freshwater biodiversity. By forging new connections and sharing innovative solutions, this network intends to empower researchers, policymakers, and local communities alike to tackle regional challenges head-on!
